My best friend Rosebud
On Thursday, May 20th, 2006 I had to have my darling, Rosie, put to sleep.
She was suffering from various illnesses, and lost her sight and could not walk.
She would have been 15 in October. My husband bought her for me five years
before he died and would often say that she was the best gift he ever gave me.
How right he was. She was my constant companion through some hard days
and some very happy ones. She begged for biscuits by licking her lips, looking at me
and then the biscuit jar. She loved the snow and would bury her head and shake,
then come inside with snowballs stuck to her feet. She loved her dog friend, Gracie.
I know she was the smartest most beautiful girl ever! In early May we spent a week in Vermont with my son and his family Rosie had so much fun in their large fenced yard, avoiding their Tibetan Mastiff, Reggie, and sitting in the cool breeze.
The last picture I took of her is there on the lounge chair.
She was still beautiful and her heart was loving and kind.
I miss her.
